Making Requirements Real - from Startups to Google

In this energizing session, we gained new insights into requirements definition, whether in a self-funded start-up or a large, well-funded organization. Two requirements experts discussed how they have succeeded in defining and building customer-focused products. Both were passionate about the user experience and provided insights into how to retain this focus while delivering the requirements. The speakers were:

Kabir Shahani is the CEO of Appature, a self-funded company serving the health care industry. He and a partner saw a market opportunity, created a viable solution and successfully launched it. Kabir is a passionate evangelist with extensive experience in identifying market segments and creating strategic partnerships.

Chris Vander Mey is a Senior Product Manager at Google; he's also worked at small startups and larger organizations like Amazon, and is passionate about using a collaborative approach and working with all owners to build great products quickly.

I thought Chris's mantra to "always be shipping" was very interesting. We've always waited until our product was perfect before shipping, but I think we might be losing valuable early feedback on our product. What do others think?
